What is Cougar Creek's House of Horrors?
Cougar Creek's House of Horrors is a premier live-theatre horror attraction based in Surrey, BC. Patrons walk through creepy and horrifying hallways of highly decorated haunted houses while actors and animatronics provide thrills and startles. NEW FOR 2023: We've added a blackout maze entitled SINNERARIA! It's an enjoyably awful tactile experience with touch sensations from actors and other creepy things while blindfolded! Make sure to buy your add-on ticket for SINNERARIA!

What is SINNERARIA?
SINNERARIA is our newest addition to our haunted event!! Patrons are blindfolded and must lead themselves by a single rope through a dark maze while actors bring on horrific tactile scares. Things will touch you and brush against you. Actors may lightly touch you. No, you ARE NOT ALLOWED to touch the actors! PLEASE SHOW UP A HALF HOUR EARLIER THAN YOUR TIMESLOT IF YOU BOUGHT SINNERARIA TICKETS!

Is SINNERARIA included in the haunted house ticket price?
No, SINNERARIA is a separate add-on ticket. Purchase your add-on ticket when you buy haunted house tickets online if you would like to attend SINNERARIA. Make sure you buy as many SINNERARIA tickets as there are people in your group! Please show up a half hour earlier than your timeslot so you can complete SINNERARIA before going into the haunted houses. For those who hate waiting, SINNERARIA tickets can be upgraded to a speedpass on site for a fee.

What are your COVID policies?
We strive to be in line with BC's provincial health regulations and recommendations regarding COVID. We take the health of our patrons and employees very seriously and have policies in place as far as sanitization of high-touch areas of the event. At this time of writing, masks are not required for patrons. As we know, these policies constantly change so we will amend policies as we go. Are there actors inside?
Yes!! Creepy actors take on all sorts of roles inside our haunts. You'll enjoy walking through a labyrinth of hallways and rooms as our actors interact with you in fun and horrifying ways.

Is this event for all ages?
While there are no age restrictions, due to elements of horror and graphic scenes, we recommend this event for ages 14 and up. Children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or older.

Are the lineups inside?
Patrons line up inside and on busy nights line-ups can extend to covered outdoor areas.

Do you have a concession with drinks and treats?
Yes, absolutely we do! We have popcorn, hotdogs, candy, tasty drinks and much, much more!

What are the names of the haunted houses?
Echoes of Abbath and New Year's Evil are the two main haunted houses. Zycho Zerkus is the new carnival maze. SINNERARIA is our newest attraction that involves being blindfolded and experiencing tactile sensations.

What does a haunted house ticket allow me to see?
One ticket allows you to see both haunted house PLUS our carnival maze! SINNERARIA requires an extra add-on ticket.

My ticket says I have to line up for 8:30pm. How do the time slots work?
For time slots, patrons line up at a particular time. For example, if you choose the 8:30pm time slot, you must be in line between 8:30pm and 9pm. Please note, your assigned time slot is not the time you will enter the haunted houses. It's merely what time you must start lining up. On busy nights the lineups can be quite lengthy (2 hours or more). If you bought SINNERARIA tickets, please show up A HALF HOUR EARLIER than your timeslot.
What other attractions are there at your event?
On top of our cool-yet-terrifying haunted houses, Cougar Creek's House of Horrors has a number of other fun things to see and do. There's a haunted photobooth that sends pics right to your email/ smart phone. There's a coffin ride where patrons can discover what it's like to be buried alive. There's some horrifically fun arcade games to play (basketball shoot-out and death-fist boxing!). We also have our very own Xmas-themed escape room, complete with head-scratching puzzles and a few startling surprises!! Lots of fun for the whole family!
There's an Escape Room? What's that all about?
Yes! Cougar Creek's House of Horrors is proud to present our very own escape room! You have 20 minutes to solve puzzles and search for clues as you frantically try and escape our Xmas-themed burning building. Complete with a tipsy Santa Claus and socially akward elves! I purchased a haunted house ticket, do I have to line up three times?
No! Patrons will go through all 3 main houses consecutively (one after the other). No need to line up a second or third time. SINNERARIA involves a separate line-up if you've purchased tickets to that particular attraction.
How can I get my tickets?
Tickets are available ONLINE ONLY!! There may be some left-over tickets sold on-site but Cougar Creek has moved to almost a complete online system. Tickets from the box office are generally more expensive. Tickets traditionally sell fast so get them while you can! We accept standard card payments such as Visa, Mastercard, etc.

What time do ticket sales end?
Ticket sales end at the latest posted time on our ticket page or until tickets sell out. In other words, if it says the event is 7pm to 10pm, ticket sales end at 10pm (as long as tickets do not sell out). That means if there are tickets still available, you can purchase them right up until 10pm and still get through all haunted houses. ** PLEASE NOTE: The event does not shut down at 10pm. Ticket sales simply end at the posted time (if tickets are still available) and patrons will still have time to make it through all the haunted houses as long as they are in line before 10pm.

What is the maximum group size? Will my group be grouped with other groups to go through the haunts?
Maximum group size to enter the haunts is 8. Groups smaller than 8 will be grouped together with other groups to make a group of 8. If you really, really want to go as only your own group, come with a group of 8 friends or aim for less busy nights. We recommend just showing up and having fun and leave the worrying about groups and group sizes to us!

What is a VIP Speedpass ticket? A VIP Speedpass ticket is a premier Speedpass ticket that allows a patron to enter the haunted houses IMMEDIATELY with little to no wait time. Ticket holders in groups less than 8 will be grouped with other patrons to form a group of 8 on busy nights. VIP Speedpass customers also get a free haunt t-shirt, limited edition comic book and other goodies.

What is a Speedpass ticket?
A Speedpass ticket is a premium ticket that allows patrons to skip the main haunted house line-ups and enter the haunted houses with less waiting time, for $20 extra. Speedpass ticket holders in groups less than 8 will be grouped with other patrons to form a group of 8. ** PLEASE NOTE: Speedpass tickets do not allow patrons to immediately enter the haunted houses! Speedpass tickets simply skip the main haunted house line-ups and essentially make for a considerably shorter wait time. On less-busy nights, Speedpass wait times would be expected to be 5 to 10 minutes or less. On busy nights Speedpass wait times could be 20 minutes or more. Compared to the regular line-ups on those nights, the Speedpass line-up will be a much faster option to enter the haunted houses.
Do tickets ever sell out?
Yes! Cougar Creek encourages patrons to buy tickets online well in advance. People who wait until the last minute to attend the event on busy nights likely will not be able to get a ticket. The only way to ensure you will get tickets for busy nights is to purchase tickets online well ahead of time.
Are the line-ups very long?
That’s a loaded question!! Some nights you can walk right into the haunted houses without waiting at all and other nights are very full. As we inch closer towards Halloween expect line-ups to get longer and longer. For those who hate long lines, our Speedpass ticket may be a better option.
Is it a ride?
No, visitors walk through all the attractions. You can set your own pace.
Is it dark?
Of course it's dark! How much fun would it be if it wasn't? Groups with younger visitors may ask the ticket taker for a complimentary GLOW STICK. Just keep it visible to the actors and they will 'tone down' their acts.
Is it a maze? Can I get lost?
It is not a maze. It is a labyrinth-like walk-through of rooms and displays connected by dark hallways. You will not get lost. Our security team (in bright safety green t-shirts) are there to assist you!
Can we wear costumes inside?
No. For safety reasons guests are not permitted to wear costumes.

Are the creepy actors going to touch you?
The actors in the main haunted houses will not grab you but there could certainly be incidental contact as actors brush up against you in narrow hallways, etc. Remember that they are moving all over the haunted house all night in tight confines, working extremely hard to provide the best scares and thrills that they can possibly muster. Please respect our actors and staff and PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ACTORS OR SETS!!! SINNERARIA is a tactile attraction and involves light touching by actors and other spooky objects.
Are your attractions open if it rains?
Yes! Our haunted houses are indoors. Lines to enter the haunts are also indoors. Please note, umbrellas are not allowed inside the event and must be checked at the door. If the weather is poor, please consider bringing wet-weather clothing (such as a waterproof poncho) instead of an umbrella.
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
No. Due to tight turns and partially impeded pathways the event is not wheelchair accessible.
Is there a lot of smoke?
We may use fog machines. They produce a very minimal amount of fog and should not affect anyone.
Are there strobe lights?
Yes, we do use strobe lights.
Do you use fake blood and other stage prop materials?
Yes, we use fake blood, oil, grease and grime as well as other stage prop materials to get the most authentic looking haunt that we can. These materials can sometimes mark or stain clothing so Cougar Creek's House of Horrors advises against wearing light-coloured clothing or highly valued attire.
Can I go in if I'm pregnant?
This event is not recommended for visitors who are pregnant, have heart conditions or are in general poor health. You take your own risks when entering the event with any of the aformentioned conditions.
Once we've used our ticket can we go through again with the same ticket?
No. A new ticket is required for each trip through the haunted houses.
Do your attractions have security?
Yes. We have a team of uniformed (bright green shirts) and non-uniformed personnel on site 24 hours a day. This is a fun event and we seldom have problems, but we are prepared.
Can we be removed from the event for any reason?
This is a fun event and we do not allow any contact with our actors or sets, foul language, pushing, vulgar behavior, weapons of any kind, alcohol, etc. Large, rambunctious groups will be broken up and may be escorted through by security personnel.
Is smoking/ vaping allowed?
Smoking/ vaping is not permitted anywhere on the property.
Can we take photos or video of your haunted houses?
No, photography or video is not allowed inside the actual haunted house. However, photos/ video are permitted outside, in the waiting line and in the attraction/ concession area.
What can't we bring with us inside your haunted houses?
We do not allow food or beverages, costumes, umbrellas, backpacks or flashlights.
Are there washrooms on site?
Yes, we have Porta-potties.
And the #1 most often asked question…Is it scary?
YOU BET YOUR LIFE IT IS!!! But keep in mind what one person finds scary, another person does not. Based on our reviews we believe we have the scariest haunt in the province and maybe the entire country!
If it’s too scary and I don’t make it through can I have a refund?
Hahahaha! Our scare team has worked hard to make this event SCARY! It is a SCARY event! We aim to SCARE you!! If we scare you to the point that you have to exit, it’s like a pat on the back for us. So the answer is... NO REFUNDS!
